  • Top Challenges Facing The Retail IT Channel

Resellers are always interested in what one another are doing. That’s one of the reasons our feature articles and case studies are so popular. It’s also a reason why the networking portion of industry events is found to be so valuable. At RSPA INSPIRE earlier this year, attendees broke up into groups to share information on challenges and changes facing the market. I was glancing through my notes from that session and thought the information would be interesting to those not in the room.

Numa Networks' Pure-Play MSP Strategy Pays Off With N-Able By SolarWinds

When Numa Networks launched in 2009 as a pure-play MSP, they moved from a traditional break-fix IT services model to a proactive approach that addresses on-going customer needs to build their business. Key to their success has been the integration of N-able’s remote monitoring and management (RMM) technology.

The Secret To Channel Success: Quit Using Spreadsheets

We all know it’s true: A lot of channel programs are still being managed with Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. It’s far more common than you’d expect, even in some of the larger companies. And, honestly, there’s nothing wrong with using spreadsheets if you want to manage a very small program, incentive, or campaign — or even analyze a set of data. But ask for anything complex, and your spreadsheet is probably creating more work than it’s doing. Here are five signs you need an incentive platform, not a spreadsheet.

AVG Managed Workplace (Level Platforms): RMM Product Review - 2014 Update

Lots of changes with the Level Platforms product in 2014. The biggest is probably that the product was rebranded AVG Managed Workplace® following acquisition of the business  of Level Platforms by AVG in June 2013. In Q4 2013, AVG updated RMM pricing to a straight forward ‘per device’ & ‘per server model’.  That is to say the MSP only pays for the number of servers and devices they manage regardless of their locations and customer spread. This is intended to simplify billing and provide clarity for the MSP both in terms of expenditure & revenues.

LabTech: RMM Product Review - 2014 Update

Since our original review, LabTech has added features and functionality such as next generation integrations with ConnectWise and Autotask PSAs. a LabTech Ignite Plugin (pre-configured out-of-box experience that saves MSPs countless hours of configuration), fully integrated and supported industry-leading TeamViewer integration, and script engine enhancements.

N-able: RMM Product Review - 2014 Update

Since January 2013, N-able announced the general availability of N-central 9.1, 9.2 and 9.3 to provide significant new business and technical capabilities to its managed service provider partners (MSPs).  The award-winning N-central managed IT services platform easily scales and now supports hybrid IT environments and mobile devices (Apple and Android), as well as Windows 8 & 8.1 and Windows Server 2012.

GFI: RMM Product Review - 2014 Update

Since 2013, GFI MAX has seen some significant changes such as remote background management (Real-time connectivity to end-client devices for management and remediation), mobile device management of Android- & iOS-based devices (Windows Phone already under development), and a new help desk and customer service solution with integrated ticket-creation in RemoteManagement.

Continuum: RMM Product Review - 2014 Update

Continuum has implemented many significant changes and enhancements throughout 2013 to ensure that our partners are more productive, efficient and responsive in meeting the IT needs of their SMB clients. For example, updates include mobile device management powered by MaaS360, VMware host monitoring, Linux server monitoring, redesigned setup UI, enhanced patching support and redesigned UI, new client-facing report templates, ticketing enhancements, including more auto-completion and addition of event codes.
