Managed Services continues to be a high growth market with many MSPs rapidly acquiring new customers, managing new devices and building recurring revenue. The reason for this growth is the reliance of SMBs on their IT infrastructure without the IT budgets to justify staffing their own technicians. MSPs are in a perfect position to continue to shift SMBs away from hourly rates and into fully managed services. Moving to a model with consistent monthly fees provides stable IT costs for the customer and predictable recurring revenue for the provider.

By utilizing bar code technology, a user can enter data nearly 20 times faster and do so about 20,000 times more accurately. These numbers can be extremely important when it comes to tracking valuable assets that are purchased with grants or assets that have a dollar value that determines that they must be tracked. In most cases, once a grant is provided, the government office or department is tasked with tracking each item purchased by the grant in order to create accurate documentation to stay in compliance. In many cases when an audit turns out to be incorrect, it can result in lost grant opportunities or money owed.

Frey and Osborne found that 47 percent of routine jobs are at risk of being automated, with humans being displaced from these jobs and the demand shifting to more non-routine, creative work — a phenomenon, cited in a report by Liberty Street Economics, called job polarization.
