Retailers face a tremendous challenge to connect with the "new consumer." Consumers are more discretionary and elusive than in the past and are looking for ways to save more and spend less. Given the additional channels and choices available to reach customers (e.g. online, in the store, at the POS, on mobile devices, etc.) combined with elusive behavior, retailers find it difficult to engage and enhance their customer relationships. Each interaction is critical, and every touch point can influence when, where, and how the consumer does business.
