Is Apps.Gov The Future Of Cloud?

So, let's talk about Apps.Gov, the federal government's cloud computing website under the guidance of the U.S. General Services Administration. Positioned as the "Federal Cloud Computing Storefront," the site is designed to meet two needs: raise awareness of cloud computing, with a FAQs section that defines cloud computing, social media, and more, as well as serve as a storefront; you can purchase SaaS products through the site. It makes you wonder what impact — if any — a site such as this has on the adoption rate of cloud computing and the channel? For vendors to participate, they must be included on the GSA's Schedule 70; at this point, Salesforce.com, Microsoft, and Google seem to be leading the pack.
