PowerAlert Software Now Supports USB-Based UPS Communications For Linux

Tripp Lite has released a new version of its PowerAlert power management software that includes full USB communications capability for the Linux operating system. Tripp Lite is the first UPS manufacturer to offer Linux users a comprehensive power management software solution compatible with Tripp Lite HID-Power Device Compliant (PDC) UPS Systems.

The new version of PowerAlert is USB compatible with Linux's Fedora 8 and OpenSUSE 11.0, enabling users to take full advantage of PowerAlert's many advanced features, including:

• Email notification
• SNMP trap notification
• UPS self-test procedures
• Script execution
