Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America (SIICA) Point of Sale (POS) division today announced that it has successfully completed a pilot program for Squirrel Systems software and that Sharp products are now certified for use with Squirrel Systems SquirrelOne point-of-sale (POS) system. The new certification provides Sharp dealers with more flexibility and a wider range of software solutions for restaurants, particularly white tablecloth establishments. It also means that end-users can take advantage of the robust feature set that SquirrelOne provides via reliable and robust Sharp touchscreen POS terminals.

The open architecture offered by Squirrel Systems' SquirrelOne POS system allows users to easily interface with a multitude of applications in order to maximize the technology in use at their customer establishments. SquirrelOne, which utilizes Microsoft SQL database and .NET3 communication foundation, is a fluid, customizable system that works with various technology applications, including web-based solutions, to provide real-time results so restaurant operators can better manage daily operations encompassing beverage control; table turns and online reservations; online order processing; payment transaction processing; business intelligence, and more.

With the SquirrelOne system, dealers will appreciate the flexibility of being able to run multiple POS offerings on a single platform, as well as the ease with which they can do repairs and maintenance on the system. “The new certification means that Sharp dealers have more options when they approach a new or exsisting customer,” said Greg Tucker, Product Planning Manager, POS Sales, Sharp Imaging and Information Company of America. “The software integrates very nicely with our touchscreen models and gives end-users an intuitive POS system for any dining style.”

SquirrelOne software can be integrated with the Sharp UP-X500 and the newly released UP-V9900 Series.
