Do you remember the good ol' days, when hackers just wanted to crash your operating system and mock you with a cartoon character that popped up on your dying computer's monitor? Instead, today's cyber criminals are masterminds of the unexpected, furtively worming their way into your data, often without even bothering to leer at you as they go. We have even eclipsed the time when malware was associated with websites where, frankly, we shouldn't be to begin with (does the label ‘Adult Content' not serve as warning enough when you are sitting at your work computer?). No, cybercrime has infiltrated the entire Internet, lurking in websites with strong reputations and high standards for security. The good news is that as a security VAR, you are in a prime position to continuously educate your customers on the ever-evolving threats from website content and assist them in protecting their data assets.
