Founded in 1834 by the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina, Wake Forest University is a private, liberal arts school serving a total student body of approximately 6,500. WFU offers undergraduate and graduate degrees and rpovides schools of law, divinity, management and medicine. They were recently ranked 11th in undergraduate teaching by U.S. New & World Report. In the 1980s the Registrar's Office noticed problems with deteriorating paper records, and they were experiencing increasing frustration with an unreliable and costly microfilm system.
