Emerging Trends In The AIDC/POS Channel
Marc Rachiele, director of vendor management and marketing for Ingram Micro's DC/POS Division, talks with Jameson Publishing and Business Solutions magazine President Jim Roddy in this exclusive Executive-To-Executive interview. In this interview, Rachiele discusses channel trends from the past year and predicts trends for the next 12-18 months. He also talks about the growing impact of managed services, SaaS (Software as a Service), and mobility on the data collection and point of sale channel.
"It's been a really interesting year so far," Rachiele says. "This is the first time now that we've seen our reseller base really taking into consideration about bolting on additional solutions. … A couple things that we're seeing, most specifically, is lots of talk around mobile solutions – more so than we've probably seen in the past. While it's not fully there yet, it's definitely coming on more strongly than what we've seen. Another area that we're seeing a lot of is the self-service solutions. That's becoming much more prominent, particularly in the area of touch screen."
