Unitech Unveils New Mobile Computer

Unitech, the third largest worldwide manufacturer of rugged PDAs, has combined innovation and practicality with its newly released PA600 HF mobile computer.
With RFID and bar coding technology constantly evolving, mobile computers must be versatile enough to handle current and future data collection applications. With its 2D imager scanner and RFID reader, Unitech’s PA600 HF is a compact and rugged mobile computer well equipped to handle the demands of changing technology.
The PA600 HF is the latest addition to Unitech’s popular PA600 family and has an integrated 13.56MHz High Frequency RFID reader. While traditional RFID readers only support one ISO standard, requiring a different device for each application, the PA600 HF innovatively supports ISO15693, ISO14443A and ISO14443B standards in a single device, making it ideal for a wide range of markets including transportation, field service and health care.
Unitech’s PA600 HF allows users to synchronize RFID data with existing business systems and databases using Oracle Database Lite and Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006. Support for Wavelink Avalanche enables easier management for wireless devices, which decreases cost and deployment time.
The PA600 HF weighs just 11 ounces and is small enough to fit into a shirt pocket. Despite its size, this robust device is equipped with a powerful 520MHz Intel processor and an IP64 rating against environmental ingress. A full QVGA color touch-screen enables users to view scanned RFID tag information, while an 18-key alphanumeric keypad makes data entry simple and easy.
