Compact Keyboard Serves Needs Of Hotel Chain

Business Solutions, July 2003

In a recent computer installation at a major hotel chain, integrator Amherst Technologies (Merrimack, NH) and Cherry Electrical Products (Pleasant Prairie, WI) teamed up to provide Cherry's G81-7000 keyboard. Cherry Electrical Products designs, develops, and manufactures automotive switches and modules and computer keyboards, switches, and controls. The hotel chain had limited desk space and a need for programmable keys. Cherry's compact POS keyboard fit the bill because of its integrated MSR (magnetic stripe reader). Amherst delivers the keyboards preprogrammed, making them plug and play with the computers. According to Amherst engineers, the Cherry keyboards are easy to program, and there has never been a keyboard failure due to programming problems.
