Employee Engagement In Our Current Economy
Mark Olson, president of APG Cash Drawer, sits down with Business Solutions magazine President Jim Roddy in an exclusive interview at APG's headquarters in Minneapolis. In this interview, Olson provides his outlook for the retail IT channel for 2010, discusses how he kept his employees engaged during 2009, and details his employee communication plan for 2010.
"The rumor mill will always communicate faster than you can communicate," Olson says. "So you need to be sure that you're giving them the real story. If it's good news or bad news or whatever it is, that's just what you have to share with them. People understand where we're at, and I think they roll up their sleeves and work harder and think harder and think longer, etc. to help get us through this. I think we've had a lot of really creative ideas from our employee population come forward to help us get through this time period."
