Move Beyond The Payments Hype To Help SMBs Achieve Success

Do you hear the tapping on keyboards and artificial clicks from iPhones? Those are the sounds of the payments industry moving away from the rustling of paper money, jingle of coins, and ka-ching of the cash register drawer.
Payments are migrating from the traditional hard currency and landline-tethered credit card terminals. Software vendors are replacing banks as the preferred providers of payment services. Two things driving this movement are the political environment and payments best practices. I favor the latter, but let's examine both.
