Jeff Davis, Senior VP of Sales at D&H Distributing, talks with Jameson Publishing and Business Solutions magazine President Jim Roddy in this exclusive Executive-To-Executive interview. In this interview, Davis talks about why the green movement has staying power in the channel, how VARs can find green solutions, and which technologies and products have been the most popular among resellers.
"I think the real value for a reseller is lower power consumption," Davis says. "As they are going out and talking to their customers about new technologies, particularly as it relates to servers ... there's a real benefit to the customers in that they have lower power consumption, and ultimately it saves them money... In the beginning, around green products, a lot of it was a premium price. I think that premium price has evaporated now. The products are competitively priced to their non-green counterparts. And then the extra value you get -- lower power consumption, faster speeds, quicker throughput -- just allows you to save money at the end."
