Access Control And Video Surveillance News

Each month, Business Solutions reports news on business in the channel. This month in Access Control And Video Surveillance news, Honeywell adds hybrid NVR to its portfolio, Pelco partners with Oncam Grandeye and with Milestone Systems, Axis launches nitrogen-pressurized stainless steel cameras, and WavestoreUSA releases a new version of its video management software.

Honeywell Adds Hybrid NVR To Portfolio

Honeywell now offers MAXPRO hybrid network video recorders (NVRs), which convert analog feeds to IP without replacing analog cameras. The company has also introduced high-definition video/audio encoders (HVEs) that allow dealers to transition their customers’ analog cameras to IP.  The NVR supports simultaneous recording and live monitoring for up to 32 cameras and is compliant with the ONVIF Profile S protocol that enables system customization. It also features 360-degree camera support, and a video surround feature lets users track subjects as they move between areas covered by adjacent cameras. Customers can access the system remotely using Honeywell’s Web client and MAXPRO Mobile application.

Pelco Partners With Oncam Grandeye, Milestone Systems

Pelco by Schneider Electric and Oncam Grandeye have partnered to deliver Evolution 360-degree cameras. These IP cameras have 5-megapixel sensors and no moving parts, and they are compatible with applications such as city surveillance, retail, and gaming. Features include Oncam Grandeye technology, which — when integrated into Pelco’s video management platform or other comparable platforms —  eliminates blind spots and enables multiple angles of a scene, including 180-degree and 360-degree panoramas with pan, tilt, and zoom (PTZ). The cameras also have retrospective dewarping technology, which allows users to view the total scene retrospectively in its original form and then pan, tilt, and zoom within the 360-degree image, as if it were a live image. In addition, multiple users can view the same image, with different perspective, concurrently from a single camera, either live or recorded. Cameras are available in concealed, outdoor, or indoor options.

In addition, Milestone Systems channel partners and customers can now leverage advanced capabilities as a result of a deeper integration between Pelco IP Cameras and Milestone XProtect IP video management software (VMS). Pelco analytics with the Milestone device pack, for example, provides the possibility to use advanced analytics at the edge and have events and information reported and managed by Milestone XProtect software.

Axis Launches Nitrogen-Pressurized Stainless Steel Cameras

 Axis Communications announces three AXIS Q60-S PTZ Dome Network Cameras. The cameras feature nitrogen-pressurized stainless steel casings, which resist the corrosive effects of sea water and cleaning chemicals and can withstand high-pressure steam cleaning. The casings also prevent internal condensation. The cameras enable 360-degree coverage in different resolutions and optical zoom:

  • AXIS Q6042-S provides extended D1 resolution and 36x optical zoom;
  • AXIS Q6044-S offers HDTV 720p and 30x optical zoom and has nearly three times the light sensitivity than the industry norm for HDTV cameras; and
  • AXIS Q6045-S supports HDTV 1080p and 20x optical zoom for detail in wide and zoomed-in views.

All AXIS Q60-S cameras support shock detection, and AXIS Q6042-S and AXIS Q6044-S provide electronic image stabilization to reduce the effects of camera vibrations. AXIS Q6044-S also supports automatic defog, which detects and digitally filters out fog in the scene, and AXIS Q6045-S has additional built-in video analytics. The cameras also include auto-tracking and Active Gatekeeper functionality.

WavestoreUSA Releases New VMS Version

WavestoreUSA released the newest version of its video management software, V5.42. This release features a Quickfind timeline slider to access video data for investigations and customizable camera layouts that allow video images to be configured and displayed in a large variety of sizes, formats, and positions. This version provides the ability at log-on to recall the last layout viewed or one of the saved layouts.  It is ONVIF (Open Network Video Interface Forum) Profile S conformant, and additional options are now supported, including event streams and auxiliary output controls. The updated version of V5 also includes support for MOBOTIX audio talkback (bidirectional audio), customized camera drivers for Oncam Grandeye Evolution devices, and enhanced optimization for Arecont Vision cameras.
