Advice To Share With Your POS Clients Considering A Move To The Cloud

Merchants are discovering that the cloud is the future of point of sale (POS), as TransFirst points out, offering numerous advantages from the ability to adopt Web-based software technology in the form of payment gateways.
A payment gateway “facilitates the coordination of communicating a payment transaction between the various backend payment networks or banks. It usually provides additional features such as including an online virtual terminal for manually processing transactions, transaction reports, and more,” according to TransFirst.
A 2014 McKinsey report predicted “over the next decade, technology will drive evolution in merchant payments that will rival the changes prompted by the introduction of the electronic terminal 30 years ago.” The McKinsey report also predicted that while large merchants will most likely employ new, cloud-based POS solutions, they will also continue to integrate these solutions into their existing enterprise technology solutions.
