Anytime, Anywhere Communications: A Host Of Opportunities

By Chance J. Myers, Co-Founder and CMO, TeleSpeak

For us veterans in the telecommunications game, to remember the late 90s and early 2000s is to recall a time of unfettered foresight, and of engineering by sheer imagination. With emboldening confidence and surprising clarity, we had the audacity to envision doctors guiding surgeries remotely, communities of students learning from teachers who lectured from a distance, and businesses producing with a workforce that connected and collaborated from any geography.

There was virtually no limit to the potential we saw, nor to the future we set out to create. The destination was grand, but the pathway proved frustratingly narrow. The infrastructure at that time simply could not sustain the weight of our ambition. As a result, the anticipated roll out of these futuristic applications stumbled and faltered. Since then, these capabilities have greatly remained on the shelf — that is, until now.

Contemporary infrastructure has now caught up with our forward-thinking vision, and the promise of a truly mobile, yet always-on globally connected world has finally arrived. It’s time for channel partners to snip the umbilical cord.

Anytime/Anywhere is Actually Here

Today, it’s a whole new ballgame for businesses; particularly, for the channel partners who are the conduits for delivering these innovations to market.  The technology we imagined has now matured to usher in a brand new day of true anytime/anywhere communications — seamless peer-to-peer and office-to-office communications linked coast-to-coast. Due to the proliferation of mobile communications, the world is more tightly knit and connected than ever before, even as we continue to sever the hardline cables that once bound us.
