Asante Selects DH2i's DxEnterprise Software To Increase Microsoft SQL Server Management Efficiency And Reduce Associated Costs By An Estimated 30-60%

Windows Server Application Container Management Software to Enable SQL Server Consolidation, and Ensure High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR) and SLA Adherence

DH2i, the leading provider of Windows Server application portability and management solutions, recently announced that Asante, one of the largest healthcare providers serving Southern Oregon and Northern California, has chosen its DxEnterprise container management software to enable efficient and cost effective management of its Microsoft SQL Server environment, which serves as the backbone of its IT infrastructure supporting the organization's numerous clinical and administrative applications and information.

At Asante, patients are their top priority. They believe each person it reaches must be treated with compassion, dignity, honesty and skill.  Asante's more than 4,200 employees work together to make this ideal a reality, supported by new technology, modern facilities and a common purpose of healing and hope.

This philosophy was recently applied to Asante's datacenter environment. As the organization grew, its Microsoft SQL Server environment kept pace. However, as is typical with SQL Server environments, Asante found itself maintaining years worth of accumulated SQL deployments and were running many versions of SQL on almost every version of Windows.  Over time, this environment was becoming more and more challenging to manage - especially in terms of ensuring SLAs and keeping downtime as close to zero as possible.  However, Asante's datacenter management team recognized that downtime events and shrinking maintenance windows were impacting operations.  It began to seek a solution - starting with the obvious choice: Microsoft.  However, Asante felt it would be prohibitively expensive and had well-documented issues with which it did not wish to contend.

Asante then learned about DH2i. After a highly detailed proof-of-concept, Asante chose it for its unparalleled ability to containerize and decouple SQL Server instances from physical server, virtual machine (VM) or cloud server and in doing so, make these instances highly portable, available and manageable. Moreover, Asante estimates it will save us 30-60% over the next few years.

"With SQL Server costs on the rise, it only made sense for us to look for SQL consolidation and management tools to control them," said Michael York, Senior Systems Engineer, Asante.  "We've found DxEnterprise to be a simple, cost effective and ingenious approach to SQL instance management. We've consolidated and upgraded older SQL environments in weeks, which would have otherwise taken us months to accomplish, and we can continue to scale out new environments in a matter of minutes for years to come.  Two thumbs up to DH2i for nailing SQL consolidation and management on the head!"

"Asante, like most innovative, growing and successful business organizations, preferred to dedicate its valuable time and budget to activities that helped meet its goal of impeccable customer service, versus time-consuming maintenance and 'fire-fighting' activities," said Don Boxley, CEO and Co-Founder, DH2i.  "With DxEnterprise, Asante can consolidate its SQL Server instances across its physical and virtual environment, leverage the comprehensive management features to ensure SLA compliance, as well as cut current and future software and infrastructure costs considerably."
