AVG Launches Mobile Security Promotion

AVG is rolling out a new offer to help resellers become more aware of the opportunity in mobile security. Starting immediately, AVG will match every 1-year business seat license of AVG Internet Security Edition 2012, with a free copy of AVG Mobilation for smartphones. To further sweeten the deal, all users will also receive a free copy of AVG Internet Security Home Edition, and deployments of 50 seats or more will earn a free Android tablet.

With the mobile office becoming increasingly commonplace among SMBs, AVG is taking steps to remind business owners that today's threat landscape is not standing still, and threats are becoming more prevalent on smartphones and tablets. According to the latest AVG SMB Market Landscape Report released this month, only 27% of SMBs view the use of mobile phones in business as a threat to IT security. The study also revealed that one in five SMBs (19%) today are employing Android smartphones while an equal proportion use BlackBerry devices. Meanwhile employees spend an average of one day per week (20% of their time) working away from the office. Yet very few SMBs are currently using antivirus or internet security for smartphones (16%) or solutions for mobile workers (2%).

To help resellers fully grasp the business mobile security opportunity AVG is providing partners with a toolkit to help them deliver their own campaigns including:

  • "A common sense guide to working on the move" – a paper containing tips and sound best practice advice
  • AVG 2011 SMB Market Landscape Report
  • Banners for marketing materials
  • Landing pages to help resellers create their own electronic direct mail campaigns

The offer ends Dec. 31, 2011.
