Features of the 5MP IP camera include digital PTZ, I/O connections and SD card storage with de-warped 180° panorama, double panorama and quad view settings

Axis Communications, the global leader in network video surveillance, launches the compact and competitively priced AXIS M3027-PVE Fixed Dome Network Camera, a 5-megapixel IP camera that offers a 360° or 180° panoramic overview of wide areas. The IK10 vandal resistant, day/night network camera is designed for outdoor use but can also be used indoors.

The outdoor-ready AXIS M3027-PVE is suitable for network video installations at hotels, retail stores, restaurants, offices and any other application where a 360° overview is needed. Check out the product demo video for both wall- and ceiling-mount situations.

“With the introduction of AXIS M3027-PVE, we further strengthen our lineup of discreet and affordably priced fixed domes by adding an outdoor-ready, 360° / 180° panoramic video surveillance solution. It offers price-sensitive market segments the option of using just one camera to get the big picture,” says Erik Frännlid, director of product management, Axis Communications. “The camera also has substantial capacity for intelligent video applications and supports a wide range of video management software including the complimentary AXIS Camera Companion for small system surveillance.”

AXIS M3027-PVE, which is the latest addition to the lineup of outdoor-ready AXIS M30-VE cameras, can be mounted on ceilings, soffits or under porches for a 360° overview and on walls for a 180° view. The camera provides de-warped views such as panorama, double panorama and quad views, as well as view area modes where users can digitally pan, tilt and zoom in on areas of interest. Multiple streams in H.264 and Motion JPEG can be sent simultaneously, and AXIS M3027-PVE offers I/O ports for connection to external devices.

All cameras in the AXIS M30 Series come focused at delivery, which means shorter installation time, and they support Power over Ethernet (IEEE 802.3af) to eliminate the need for power cables and reduce installation costs.

AXIS M3027-PVE offers considerable support for the installation of intelligent video applications through AXIS Camera Application Platform. Furthermore, the camera’s built-in microSDHC card slot enables several days of recording to be stored locally. By using local storage together with the complimentary AXIS Camera Companion video management software, users have an easy solution to remotely view and manage video for up to 16 cameras per site.

AXIS M3027- PVE is also supported by other video management software including AXIS Camera Station, hosted video offerings and third-party applications through Axis’ Application Development Partner (ADP) program. Client side de-warping of the 360º overview is supported by Axis’ video management software and also by some ADPs. AXIS M3027-PVE is ONVIF Profile S conformant.

AXIS M3027-PVE is now available for order through Axis’ distribution channels at a suggested retail price of $799. For product photos and other resources, visit www.axis.com/corporate/press/press_material.htm?key=m3027pve.
