BlueStar: Security, Healthcare Key To Channel Future

In this video from VARTECH 2012, BlueStar President/CEO Steve Cuntz discusses which trends he believes will impact his company and the channel in the near future. Among the highlights:

• Video surveillance and security. The live video surveillance demonstration at the outset of this video was attention-getting to the reseller attendees.
• Healthcare. “The scarcity of the dollar … is going to be dependent, and those successful healthcare companies will be dependent, on the technology that they employ in order to successfully deliver high quality, world-class healthcare,” Cuntz said.
• RFID. BlueStar and several vendor partners provided a unique solution to this year’s Republican National Convention.
• QR codes. “I couldn’t spell ‘QR code’ two years ago,” Cuntz joked. “Now it’s the de facto standard (in marketing today).”

Promoted as a “mobile trade show,” BlueStar hosted its annual VARTECH Conference Oct. 5-8 on the Carnival Imagination cruise ship traveling from Miami to Nassau, The Bahamas. Over 1,400 people attended the event with over half of them being the distributor’s top resellers from the U.S. and Latin America.
