Charity Aid Foundation Streamlines Donation Process With Payment Solution
The Challenge
As the world moves from cash to “cashless” digital transactions, every industry is affected, even those that wouldn’t immediately come to mind. Take for instance, charity organizations that rely on volunteers to raise money on the streets. With fewer people carrying cash, many charities that employee the use of donation buckets have found their contribution numbers dropping. It’s not that citizens care less about the charities involved, it’s that many people simply aren’t carrying cash these days.
The board members of the Charity Aid Foundation (CAF) were discussing this trend a few years ago when one of its board members — who happens to work in the payment processing industry — shared that a solution to easily collect credit card donations should be possible.
How Creditcall Helped
The CAF was seeking a solution that made the donation experience with credit cards as easy as throwing cash into a bucket. Contactless payments was thought of as the method of choice. They also wanted the experience to be intuitive to the street-level volunteers who typically held buckets and asked for donations. Whatever solution was built, it couldn’t require much, if any, training to be used. Finally, the solution had to go from concept to design in 100 days.
