CompTIA ChannelChangers Awards Seek IT Industry's Future Leaders

Nominations Open and Due by June 22; Honorees will be Recognized at ChannelCon 2015 in Chicago

CompTIA, the IT industry association, recently announced nominations are now being accepted for the 2015 ChannelChangers awards program. In its second year, the annual program recognizes the most prominent and promising future IT channel leaders who are already having a positive impact on the industry.

“The IT channel is driven by entrepreneurism and innovation. That legacy continues today as an increasing number of young people are entering the workforce with a mindset that’s geared toward finding ways that they can make a difference at home, in the office and around the globe,” says Kelly Ricker, senior vice president, events and education, CompTIA.

“We look forward to shining the spotlight on the aspirations and achievements of this year’s ChannelChangers and working together to inspire greatness and more collaboration across the generations.”

CompTIA’s ChannelChangers program is open to young “millennial” professionals, aged 23-29 years old as of August 2015 who have two years’ experience in the IT industry. Nominees must be currently employed by a CompTIA Premier Member company. Nomination forms are available at http://www.comptia.org/channelcon/media/channelchangers/nomination and, for self-nominations, at http://www.comptia.org/channelcon/media/channelchangers/submission,

All nominations must be submitted by June 22.

An industry selection committee will review submissions and name the honorees. The selection committee will examine the ChannelChangers submissions and evaluate the nominees’ time of service in the industry, accomplishments and honors in making their selection.

“As part of the selection process, each nominee will be asked to identify some of the challenges facing our industry and demonstrate their creativity and strategic thinking by offering an approach to combat these challenges,” said Ricker. “They’ll also need to share with the committee why they joined the IT industry.”

The 2015 ChannelChangers will be recognized at CompTIA’s ChannelCon 2015, the premier networking and training event for today’s leading and emerging IT vendors, distributors and channel partners. The annual event will take place Aug. 3-5 at the historic Hilton Chicago located in downtown Chicago. Each ChannelChanger award winner will receive complimentary conference registration, airfare and hotel accommodations (four nights) to ChannelCon 2015. Honorees will be notified the week of July 13.

ChannelCon 2015 is where the IT channel will come together to share ideas, learn from industry experts and network with peers, partners and prospects. The theme for this year’s event is “Minds in Motion,” and it will feature high-level executive panel discussions and speakers, intensive education courses and channel training sessions.

CompTIA Premier Members receive unlimited free registration to ChannelCon. The event fee for a CompTIA Registered User or non-member is $250 and includes a one-year premier CompTIA membership at no cost.

All premier vendor, distributor and associate members receive a complimentary booth – valued at $5,000 – at the ChannelCon Technology Vendor Fair, unlimited conference passes for attending staff, and are invited to attend all networking break-out and general sessions. Exhibitors are encouraged to extend free conference registration passes to their solution provider partners.
