CompTIA Welcomes Three New Members To Vendor Advisory Council

Executives from Fiberlink, Vembu Technologies and VisioTech Solutions join group

CompTIA, the non-profit association for the information technology (IT) industry, announced recently the addition of two new members to its Vendor Advisory Council.

Joining the council are Francois Daumard, director of channel development for Fiberlink, a provider of enterprise mobility management solutions; Len Srinivasan, vice president, channel partner development for Vembu Technologies, a provider of  cloud storage, online backup, cloud content management and other cloud-based solutions for small and medium businesses; and Adeel Javaid, president, VisioTech Solutions, which offers cloud-based solutions in healthcare, security, backup, storage and other areas.

These three companies join 16 other top technology vendors on the advisory council. Executives from these hardware manufacturers and software vendors share their in-depth knowledge of the IT channel. Their strategic near-term insight guides CompTIA in the development of education programs, credentials, research and other initiatives designed exclusively for IT channel companies.

“The rapid adoption of cloud computing and mobility has altered the way organizations buy and deploy technology solutions,” said Annette Taber, vice president, channel strategies, CompTIA. “It’s also shifted the dynamics between technology vendors and their channel partners.

“We’ve engaged some of the best minds in the IT channel on our Vendor Advisory Council to help us understand and respond to this changing environment,” Taber continued. “The addition of Fiberlink, Vembu Technologies and VisioTech Solutions brings new expertise to this effort.”

The council is currently examining several issues related to the evolving IT channel, including strategies for more effective channel communications; partner business evolution training programs; and the role and value of distributors in a cloud-centric world.

Other companies represented on the CompTIA Vendor Advisory Council include ADTRAN, Autotask, ChannelEyes, Cisco Systems, Dell, Hewlett-Packard, Intel, Microsoft, NEC Display, Panasonic, Red Hat, SaaSMAX, Virtual Instruments, VMware, Xerox and XiloCore.

CompTIA has also established a Partner Advisory Council, which solicits input from the largest solution providers; and a Telecom Advisory Council, a group centered on the growing convergence of telecom and IT.
