Creditcall Obtains PCI-Validated P2PE Certification For Omni-Channel Payment Gateway Solution ChipDNA

ChipDNA brings highest level of card holder data protection to merchants and their customers and reduces cost and scope of PCI DSS

Creditcall, the EMV-ready omni-channel payment gateway and EMV Kernel provider, recently announced its Point to Point Encryption (P2PE) solution ChipDNA in combination with Ingenico and Verifone PINpads, has been validated by the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council (PCI SSC). This gives developers, ISVs and VARs a cost-effective and hassle free solution to incorporate PCI-validated P2PE in their point of sale (POS) systems which can reduce the scope of PCI Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) compliance for their merchant customers while providing a choice of PCI-approved PINpads.

As merchants struggle to keep up with evolving security and regulatory requirements, this certification comes at a critical time when most companies are failing compliance responsibilities. Earlier this year, the Verizon 2015 PCI Compliance report discovered four out of five companies fail interim compliance assessments for payment card data security. Creditcall’s latest certified solution for two of the most popular payment terminals alleviates many of the costs and challenges associated with securing payments and adhering to PCI DSS.

EMV and P2PE benefits merchants with a multi-pronged approach to security
Creditcall’s PCI-validated P2PE certification for Ingenico and Verifone PINpads means developers, ISVs and VARs have a powerful tool that protects merchants from card skimming and data breaches. While EMV addresses the risks associated with card skimming, it cannot prevent a data breach.

With P2PE, card holder data is encrypted at the point of entry and unreadable until it reaches the secure decryption environment of Creditcall’s payment gateway. Encrypted card holder data has no value if stolen in a breach as only Creditcall can decrypt the data. Only PCI validated and listed P2PE solutions such as ChipDNA can reduce the scope of the cardholder data environment, which helps simplify compliance efforts for merchants with the PCI DSS.

Creditcall’s ChipDNA PCI P2PE certification covers multiple EMV chip card payment terminals including the Ingenico iPP350 and Verifone VX 820 for attended card payment processing often used in retail and hospitality and the Verifone UX for unattended applications commonly seen in parking, vending or transportation environments. This omni-channel device support was made possible by close collaboration between Creditcall and the manufacturers’ distribution partners Hemisphere West Europe and Secure Retail. Both partners participated in the qualification process and were key in helping secure the certification for the overall solution.

ChipDNA is an omni-channel, EMV-ready payment gateway solution for mobile, online, and in-store card payment acceptance. It is aimed at web and app developers and can be integrated into Android and iOS based mobile POS (mPOS) payment solutions as well as Windows and Linux semi-integrated environments. It contains a reporting and management tool as well as a comprehensive terminal management system (TMS) for real-time PINpad updates.
