Wasp Launches Three Bar code Printers

Wasp Barcode Technologies recently added a new line of bar code printers. The WPL612 and WPL406 are designed for industrial bar code printing, and the WPL304 is for desktop bar code printing. The printers feature standard Ethernet connectivity. The WPL612 can be used in manufacturing, warehouse, and shipping-and-receiving industries. It offers both thermal-transfer and direct-thermal printing. It features diecast aluminum construction, including the printhead, and it can produce 20,000 labels in one run. Standard resolution is 203 DPI, but 300 or 600 DPI printheads are also available. It prints labels up to 4.09 inches wide. The WPL406 is an entry-level industrial printer. It has a low-profile design, all-metal exterior housing, and diecast aluminum print mechanism, and it can sustain a print volume of up to 10,000 labels per day. Print resolution is also 203 DPI, with 300 DPI available. The WPL304 desktop printer offers four connection options — Ethernet, USB, serial, and parallel — and it is compatible with Wasp and other major ribbon media. It prints at a speed of up to 4 inches per second.

Bixolon Adds Mobile Printer

Bixolon has added the SPP-R400 to its line of mobile printers. It is Apple MFi (made for iPhone/iPod/iPad) certified, and it is compatible with major operating systems including Android, Windows, and Symbian. Users can connect and print with an iPad, iPhone, or Samsung Galaxy phone or tablet. The printer features drop-in paper loading, and it can switch from a receipt printer to a label printer. It has an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance, and it has a multiple-drop resistance of 5 feet.

Intermec Announces C# Smart Printing Language

Intermec now offers Intermec C# for Printers, providing smart printing capabilities for its PM43/c industrial printers and PC-Series desktop printers. The addition of this programming language capability for smart printing eliminates the need for an attached computer, keyboard, or other cabling element in many industrial, retail, and distribution center applications. Smart printers work by running applications directly in the printer to control the label-printing process. Intermec C# will be included directly in the printer’s firmware, so it will not require a separate purchase.
