Motion Expands In-Vehicle Computing Solution
Motion Computing updated its in-vehicle computing solution. New customized dash mount kits are now available to support popular public safety and utility vehicles such as Chevy Tahoe, Ford F150 and F250, and Dodge Charger. Also, it upgraded the vehicle docks’ and mounting kits’ warranty terms to a 3-year standard limited warranty. In addition, the solution has passed comprehensive crash and vibration testing at vehicle and occupant safety testing facilities used by the automobile industry. The solution met or exceeded several domestic and international industry standards, such as the U.S. heavy-duty vehicle SAE International J1455 standard.
Glacier Computer Adds Model To Rugged Tablet Line
Glacier Computer has added the T707 to its line of rugged tablets. The T707 has a 7-inch touch screen display and is equipped with SOTI mobile device management and “Stay-linked” wireless terminal emulation. Windows 7 is the standard OS for this model. The T707 can be used outdoors — it is completely sealed from dust and particulates and can withstand water bombardment of 12.5 liters per minute. Dropping the unit — even from 6 feet — is within warranty coverage and specifications.
Motorola Solutions App Enables Communication With Radio Users
Motorola Solutions introduced the new app, MOTOTRBO Anywhere. It allows workers to communicate with MOTOTRBO radio users and talk-groups through their Android or iOS smartphones. Unlike other push-to-talk applications, MOTOTRBO Anywhere is integrated into the radio system infrastructure. Users can communicate whether connecting via cellular networks or Wi-Fi. The solution can accommodate hundreds of users, and every user can be configured with a unique profile, defining talk-groups, and private call capabilities. Access is secure, and the system administrator remains in control at all times.
TSC Auto ID Presents Alpha-4L
TSC Auto ID released the Alpha-4L mobile label printer. It features printing speeds up to 4 inches per second at a resolution of 203 dpi, 16 MB flash memory and 32 MB SDRAM, and a micro SD card reader for flash memory expansion to 4 GB. It comes standard with USB 2.0 and Bluetooth, and offers options for wireless connections to mobile computer or smart phone. The printer accommodates diverse media types — die cut, black mark, receipt, fan-fold, linerless, or continuous — and media rolls with an outer diameter up to 2.65 inches. The maximum print width is 4.09 inches, and the maximum label length is 90 inches. Testing has proven the printer can withstand a 5-foot drop, and an optional IP54-rated case is available to protect the printer from dust and water.
Intermec Announces Mid-Range Label Printer
Intermec added the PM23c, a 2-inch, mid-range industrial printing solution, which is an extension of Intermec’s PM43 and PM43c printer platform. The PM23c is an all-metal bar code label printer with a color touch screen, 10 languages or an easy-to-use universal icon user interface, and optional Bluetooth connectivity. It features Intermec’s C# Smart Printing language that enables users to create stand-alone applications to control other devices such as scanners, scales, keyboards, and other peripherals directly through the printer.
