DSC Introduces 1 And 2-Way Wireless Transceiver Module For PowerSeries

Turns PowerSeries alarm panel into a wireless system

TORONTO — DSC, part of Tyco Security Products, has introduced the PowerSeries 2-Way Wireless Transceiver Module TR5164-433 which transforms the hybrid PowerSeries alarm control panel into a wireless system and only requires hardwiring of the panel and receiver.

The TR5164-433 is an add-on module that enables dealers to greatly extend the capabilities of their customers’ traditional alarm system with the addition of up to four wireless keypads. The TR5164-433 supports 60 wireless zones, 16 wireless keys and both 2-way and 1-way DSC wireless devices.

“Our new wireless transceiver module gives dealers the flexibility of using both wireless and hardwired devices,” said Vicki Sword, Senior Product Manager, Hybrid Systems, for Tyco Security Products’ DSC brand. “By adding the TR5164-433, installers gain the traditional benefits of a wireless system without having to buy a fully wireless system. These benefits include quick enrollment and the flexibility of wireless keypads without the cost and time associated with additional wiring.”

The TR5164-433 is ideal for older homes, where homeowners do not want to damage walls by running wires, and enables the installation of devices in even the most challenging to wire places. It also allows homeowners to add a second keypad at a later time after completing the initial installation of an alarm system.

Compact in design, the TR5164-433 features an easy wireless enrollment process. Installers confirm Electronic Serial Numbers (ESN), zone numbers and zone type through a series of user friendly screens, further reducing installation time.

The TR5164-433 supports up to 4 wire-free keypads, enabling dealers to easily sell and install addition keypads and increasing the opportunity for additional revenue. It is compatible with the PowerSeries version 4.6 and higher.
