In addition to 3+ hours of networking time to meet with ISV peers and vendors, the conference agenda will focus on three main topics: raising capital, marketing, and partnering.

The raising capital session will include a panel of ISV executives who have successfully secured funding for their companies through bootstrapping, angel investors, venture capital, and private equity. Another panel will feature financial industry experts sharing insider advice on how to secure funding.

Todd Sexton, President and CEO of Identillect Technologies, will participate on the ISV raising capital panel discussing his experience securing $5+ million in funding from 150+ investors. Sexton advises ISV executives, “When raising capital, investors are less concerned with what you do or how you do it; instead they are interested in profit, viability, and growth. This should be the cornerstone of your message.”

He will be joined on the raising capital ISV panel by John Bodrozic, Co-Founder and CEO of HomeZada. Bodrozic has raised $15+ million throughout his career leading software companies. Bodrozic said, “I am excited to share my previous capital fund raising experience including founder capital, friends and family rounds, as well as venture and strategic funding with other ISVs and the extended VAR community.  I also look forward to building new partner relationships with our HomeZada opportunity in the insurance, real estate and mortgage vertical markets.” Bodrozic recently participated in a Business Solutions podcast about raising capital (view the transcript or listen to the podcast here).

Partnering education sessions will include a panel of ISVs who have built successful channel relationships. A second panel will feature thought leaders from channel vendors who will share their insights on the partnering ecosystem.

Business Solutions constantly encourages resellers to add complimentary technologies and services to their line cards, and we want to make our ISV audience aware of the opportunities to make their software available through the VAR channel,” said Roddy. “By choosing strategic partnerships with VARs, other software companies, and vendors, ISV executives can get their software in the hands of more customers.”

During the marketing portion of the agenda, Business Solutions and BlueStar will show ISVs how to execute the $10,175 Marketing Toolkit all attendees will receive at no charge. The Toolkit is designed to help ISVs reach channel and end user executives through a target market contact list, online exposure, content syndication, telemarketing, SEO and social media campaigns, and more.

“Our goal when designing the Marketing Toolkit was to provide ISV executives with actionable takeaways to boost their marketing strategy,” said Roddy. “For example, if an ISV executive from a POS software company attends the event, Business Solutions will provide a list of up to 20 VARs in the retail vertical who fit a demographic profile the ISV selects such as location, selling size, and annual sales.”
