Epson Offers Banks ‘Stacked' Multifunction Teller Solution

Combines Industry-Leading Imaging, Receipt and Cashier Check Printing In Ultra-Small Footprint

Recently at the BAI Retail Delivery Show, Epson America, Inc., a leading supplier of value-added financial solutions, introduced its newest multifunction teller solution in the form of a "stacked solution". It includes Epson's TM-S2000 multifunction scanner and Epson's TM-T70II receipt printer in an innovative housing that allows the units to be stacked. The stacked solution delivers a multitude of check handling functionality with the convenience of front receipt dispensing - all in one extra-small footprint. In addition, it offers the fastest desktop scanning speed with the highest MICR accuracy in its class, along with ultra-crisp receipt printing. It is the only multifunction teller device that supports printing cashier's checks, allowing tellers to better serve customers without abandoning the teller station. Packed with functionality and backed by the industry's leading provider of financial printing and scanning solutions, Epson's stacked solution offers banks the ultimate space-saving multifunction teller solution.

"Banks are always looking to optimize efficiencies at the teller window," commented Tom Kettell, Senior Manager of Business Development for Epson's Business Systems Division. "That requires feature-rich technology solutions designed to fit where space is at a premium. Epson's new stacked solution delivers maximum performance in a very small package - which is key to optimizing work flow, while conserving valuable workspace."

Stacked Solution Features

By uniquely housing two of Epson's industry-leading products into one compact unit, banks can take advantage of the following features:

  • Super-compact unit with all-front facing controls, including paper loading and receipt printing
  • Fastest check scanning speed in its class, up to 200 dpm, with 99.9% MICR accuracy
  • 2-sided 24-bit color ID scanning
  • Up to 16 lines of endorsement printing
  • Only multifunction device that supports printing cashier's checks (2" print area)
  • Fast receipt printing, up to 250 mm/sec for both text and graphics (including logos and 2D barcodes)
  • Options for 3-track MSR for credit and debit cards, a 2nd pocket to process exceptions or separate documents and a USB hub

Because it utilizes the same API as other popular Epson models, including the company's TM-S9000, the stacked solution can be easily paired with other Epson solutions - with no need for additional validation processes. The new API delivers high quality images for precise CAR/LAR readability, ensuring that difficult-to-read money orders and lightly-printed checks are fully legible, reducing check read errors and the need for manual processing. The stacked solution comes with an industry-leading, two-year limited warranty and is backed by Epson's quality, reliability and world-class service programs.
