F-Secure finds that businesses are looking to managed services providers (MSPs) to help navigate an environment of a growing number of malware attacks and challenges from an increasingly mobile workforce.

The F-Secure white paper “Small? Medium? Great!” states the majority of small and midsize companies use of mobile technology: 78 percent of SMB owners say they use mobile devices to access work-related information while away from the office and 71 percent require technology that enables their employees to work anywhere, anytime. The paper also reports, however, 77 percent of cybercrime in targeted at SMBs. Further, 64 percent of SMBs don’t have a security policy, and 58 percent don’t recognize cyberattacks as a significant risk.

In addition, F-Secure finds the need for security services extends to enterprises of all sizes. The company’s 2013 Digital Company Survey found work is now “virtual, scattered, and on the move” with 34 percent of employees working outside the office or traveling regularly. This challenges IT departments to secure a variety of multiple endpoints, vulnerable to cyberattacks.

In response to the growing opportunity to provide security services, F-Secure introduced its new Global Partner Program to enable partners to sell security from the cloud.
