Getting to Know the PCI Security Standards Council Board of Advisors

Source: RSPA

As you know, RSPA recently announced our appointment to the 2013-2015 PCI Security Standards Council Board of Advisors (PCI SSC). The Primary Representative for our seat is RSPA President and CEO, Joe Finizio. We don’t think there could be a more appropriate time to provide some information to our members about who the PCI SSC Board of Advisors is, what their purpose is and how the Board of Advisors affects the Council, the industry, our association… and YOU.

The PCI Security Standards Council is led by a policy-setting Executive Committee, composed of representatives from the five founding global payment brands (American Express, Discover Financial Services, JCB International, MasterCard Worldwide, and Visa, Inc.) and Strategic Members. Each board serves a two-year term and reports directly to the Executive Committee. The PCI SSC Board of Advisors is composed of representatives of participating organizations. The board is a cross-industry group chartered to ensure that all voices are heard in the ongoing development of PCI security standards. The board has representation from across the payment chain (merchants, financial institutions, processors, associations and more),as well as from around the world. The 2013-2015 Board of Advisors will serve as representatives in the collaborative efforts of the PCI SSC to secure payment card data globally.
