TechNavio released its report on the Global BYOD Security Market, predicting a compound annual gross rate (CAGR) of 35.23 percent from 2015 to 2019.

BYOD brings with it the concern of security issues based on the use of personal phones for business utilization. In order to combat these apprehensions, mobile platform vendors are beginning to offer ready-made security solutions to enterprises and organizations.

“Mobile platform vendors have introduced BYOD security solutions to increase their competitive strength in the market,” Faisal Ghaus, VP of TechNavio says. “For example, Google is offering free antivirus and mobile data security of Android phones.”

As BYOD continues to gain popularity (research in 2012 from Nielsen revealed 50.4 percent of U.S. consumers now use a smartphone — amounting to more than110 million smartphones), security solutions that enable remote management of the devices become more important. TechNavio includes mobile device management (MDM) and mobile application management (MAM) among BYOD security solutions.

In addition to the implementation of BYOD security, the swelling demand for BYOD solutions for SMBs is set to contribute to the market growth through 2019.
