Global Payments' OpenEdge EMV Solution To Begin Processing Transactions; Insulates Developers From Complex Certifications

Global Payments Inc. is pleased to announce that OpenEdge, its integrated payments division, is fully certified by the major card brands and ready to process live EMV transactions in the United States. OpenEdge received final EMV certification from the remaining card brand the week of July 27 and is deploying EMV-capable devices immediately. All OpenEdge systems are tested and ready to process EMV transactions.

The OpenEdge EMV Solution is a pre-certified EMV integration designed to:

• ease software developers’ complicated device driving and EMV certification efforts
• shield developers from certification requirements
• swiftly deploy the new credit card security standard into merchant point-of-sale payment systems
