Mark Fraker, VP of Marketing for BlueStar, talks with Jameson Publishing and Business Solutions magazine President Jim Roddy in this exclusive Executive-To-Executive interview. In this interview, Fraker provides an update on the federal stimulus package, outlines steps for taking full advantage of this growing vertical, and discusses lessons learned from BlueStar staff members who are focused full-time on the government vertical.
In response to the question of what area of government resellers should focus on now, Fraker says, "Do what you do best. All of the value-added resellers have a competency in a certain solution set that they offer and support on a regular basis. So, if you're selling and supporting mobility solutions ... in the private sector, look to do the same thing in the public sector. All of these types of solutions are in demand in the public sector and funded by a magnitude of grants. With that said, I would say that device-intensive applications with a proven ROI are the best things to look at."
