Honeywell Gives Retailers Competitive Edge With New Industry-Leading Scanning Technology

Immersive, interactive NRF booth showcases retail back-of-store operations and point-of-sale technologies, including new scanner family designed to elevate customer experience

Honeywell will unveil an innovative new suite of Voyager scanners, designed to empower retailers to better connect with customers and minimize checkout time, at the National Retail Federation’s (NRF) Big Show opening here recently and running through January 14.

The new scanner products, as well as Honeywell’s full portfolio of retail solutions, including an in-store voice workflow solution running on Honeywell’s next generation mobile platform supporting the Microsoft Windows Embedded 8.1 and Android 5.0 operating systems, will be on display in booth #2735.

“Retailers are feeling more pressure than ever from consumers to deliver faster and smoother in-store experiences,” said Bob Grabowski, director of industry marketing, Honeywell Scanning & Mobility. “With these new products, our goal is to give retail professionals the ability and freedom to select the right tools to enable innovative marketing programs and effortlessly run operations while improving the customer experience.”

Enriching the Customer Experience: Scanners Drive Efficiency at POS and Beyond
Extending Honeywell’s leadership in engineering scanning solutions for the world’s leading retailers, the four new Voyager scanners are designed with the future of retail in mind, helping to reduce checkout time, speed up loyalty program enrollment and age verification, and unlock the full potential of the customer’s mobile shopping experience. The new solutions include:

  • Industry’s First Battery-Free Wireless Scanner: The new Voyager 1202G is Honeywell’s first of many battery-free wireless laser scanners, and provides the same aggressive linear barcode scanning performance as a wired scanner but without the long recharge time, maintenance, or environmental disposal issues associated with traditional batteries.
  • Pocket 2D Bluetooth Scanner with Full-Size Performance: The affordable Voyager 1602g pocket 2D Bluetooth scanner packs high performance area-imaging technology into an elegant and compact form factor, making it the perfect scanning companion to tablet-based retail POS systems.
  • New Upgradable Scanners: For retailers that anticipate the need for area imaging in the future, such as scanning coupons off of customers’ smartphone screens, the Voyager 1450g tethered scanner and Voyager 1452g wireless scanner deliver powerful linear barcode scanning out of the box. Both scanners are available for upgrade at a competitive price to enable PDF and 2D barcode reading at the initial time of purchase or at any point in the future.

Throughout NRF’s Big Show, Honeywell will highlight news, features and multimedia on these products and more on its website and social media channels.
