Honeywell Reinvents Area-Imaging With The N5600 Engine
N5600 Series Delivers Industry Firsts and High-Performance Scanning on a Long-Lasting Technology Platform
Honeywell recently announced the introduction of the N5600 series of area-imaging engines, providing original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) with a long-lasting platform that meets the bar code scanning needs of end users in virtually all markets. The N5600 is the industry's first bar code optimized image engine with color imaging capabilities, eliminating the need for a separate camera and reducing hardware acquisition costs. This innovation in color technology delivers to OEMs and end users the flexibility to meet today's needs while also anticipating the needs of tomorrow.
As the world's first engine developed with Adaptus Imaging Technology 6.0, the N5600 provides scanning out to 16.5 inches on 100% U.P.C. bar codes, exceptional motion tolerance and flexible aiming options for use in the most demanding bar code scanning applications—indoors or outdoors. The N5600 enables vastly superior reading performance on hard-to-read bar codes, including those found on the screen of mobile devices, expanding the market OEMs can reach with their integrated offerings.
"Nearly seven years ago, Honeywell technologists set out to re-invent bar code imaging. This multi-year effort generated numerous innovations, which have become part of Honeywell's newest and most powerful image engine platform," said Robert Hussey, director of global OEM marketing, Honeywell Scanning & Mobility. "Honeywell has been leading the bar code imaging industry for almost 15 years. The introduction of the N5600 is another major milestone to carry forward the next generation of performance, flexibility and customer solutions."
The N5600 is compatible with Honeywell's TotalFreedom development platform and Remote MasterMind (ReM) remote device management software. The TotalFreedom platform allows OEMs to add custom features via software plug-ins through a pre-defined application programming interface. ReM software provides a quick and convenient solution for remotely managing devices integrated with N5600 engines. The N5600 comes fully backed by Honeywell's expert OEM sales and integration engineering support, ensuring fast and effective integration and service throughout the life of the engine.
The N5600 is available for sale today. For more information visit www.honeywellaidc.com.
