Hostway Expands Cloud Offerings With Private Cloud Offering Utilizing Windows Azure Pack

Upgraded Performance, Failover, and Scalability Broaden Hostway’s Private Cloud Offering

Cloud hosting provider Hostway Services, Inc. recently announced the enhancement of its cloud portfolio with both virtual and dedicated private cloud services, based on Windows Server 2012 R2 and utilizing Windows Azure Pack. These next-generation products not only strengthen Hostway’s relationship with the Microsoft Cloud OS Network, but also combine the virtualization benefits of cloud with the predictability and security of dedicated resources.

Hostway’s use of Azure Pack for its private cloud solutions provides businesses with an Azure-consistent experience and the flexibility to choose how intricately they manage their cloud resources. This means customers use their existing Microsoft tools, skill sets, and APIs without having to learn a new technology or rebuild their systems. Coupling the Azure-consistent experience with Hostway’s cloud support offerings provides customers with the added benefit of choosing to have Hostway completely or partially manage their cloud solution, thus allowing them to focus on their key business functions.

“Our virtual and dedicated private cloud services based on Windows Server 2012 R2 really provide the flexibility the market has been looking for in terms of customers managing their cloud resources. Many organizations lack the bandwidth to fully manage their environments given their internal constraints. With our new private cloud, they can now look to Hostway for that management. This also enables customers using the Microsoft stack to easily move between public, private, hybrid and dedicated services as their business needs change,” said Robert Boles, CEO at Hostway. “Customers can now use their existing Microsoft investments and take full advantage of the entire Microsoft ecosystem.”

Windows Server 2012 R2 extends those benefits with these new capabilities:

  • Performance enhancements that increase VM responsiveness and allow virtual servers to be deployed within minutes of the customer’s request.
  • Failover improvements that utilize Hyper-V’s live migration capabilities to improve high availability and disaster recovery.
  • Self-service management of virtual machines and other cloud resources through the Azure Pack interface.

“We are pleased to work with Hostway to provide an enterprise-class platform that can scale to run large workloads while enabling robust recovery options,” said Michael Leworthy, Group Manager, Enterprise Cloud, Microsoft. “Leveraging the Windows Server 2012 R2 platform and Azure Pack, Hostway’s virtual private cloud solution can help speed time to value and reduce cost by simplifying underlying infrastructure and delivering the flexibility to move workloads between on-premises environments and the cloud.”
