How Unsafe Is Android?

By The Business Solutions Network

If you ever want to get me going, say something negative about Android devices. Something that I often encounter in the mass media are quotes about how unsafe Android is and how much malware exists in the Android ecosystem. It fires me up!

I usually dismiss such claims with the only evidence I have to the contrary. I’ve owned multiple Android-based smartphones going back generations of the OS. My tablet is Android-based. My whole family runs Android. I’ve installed hundreds of apps. Most came through the Google Play store while some were side-loaded (against advice, installed outside the controlled world of Google’s store). I’ve never encountered what I considered malware. I don’t know anyone who has. So, when I read about how Android is prone to malware, I take issue.
