ibml Announces The First Arabic Language Sorting And Classification Solution For High-Volume Document Scanning Operations

ibml's ImageTrac can now read, classify and sort Arabic business documents

ibml, a leading provider of scanning and document capture solutions and services, recently announced that it is offering inline Arabic optical character recognition (OCR) software for its ImageTrac® scanners. The ImageTrac is the first scanner of its kind to offer inline Arabic OCR.

The Arabic OCR software option, part of ibml's SoftTrac® Capture Suite, allows the ImageTrac to recognize Arabic characters and extract Arabic words and phrases as documents are scanned, then automatically identify document components based on these results. This enables the ImageTrac to physically sort documents into trays, eliminating the need for separator sheets and post-scan document separation labor as well as streamlining document preparation tasks. Additionally, the ImageTrac can now determine where a transaction or batch begins for Arabic language documents. As a result, organizations across the Middle East can now automate and accelerate the processing of Arabic language documents.

ibml's ImageTrac scanners with SoftTrac Capture Suite can process up to 440 pages per minute, perform intelligent document recognition and data capture on the fly during scanning, and sort documents based on pre-configured business rules.

The Arabic OCR software option for ImageTrac will first be made available in the Middle East in early 2013 through Kodak.
