ibml's first desktop capture solution combines sophisticated features not found on trandtional desktop scanners with surprisingly affordable pricing

BIRMINGHAM, AL, - ibml, the leader in high-volume production scanning solutions and services, today announced the introduction of its first desktop capture solution, the ImageTracDS 1150. The ImageTracDS 1150 combines sophisticated features not found on traditional desktop scanners with surprisingly affordable pricing, setting a new standard for price/performance in the category.

Offered at a price similar to traditional high-volume desktop scanners and capture software, the ImageTracDS 1150 breaks the mold by coming standard with two sort trays, providing a solution for applications with special post-scan document handling requirements, such as when checks or other documents must be returned to a customer, or when customers want to out-sort and re-use batch separator sheets. Similar to ibml's flagship ImageTrac®, the ImageTracDS 1150 also processes co-mingled document types, has a left-justified feeder, and includes a front printer to endorse documents.

The ImageTracDS 1150 also comes with a special high-productivity software bundle of ibml capture products that further set it apart from other desktop scanners. The bundle includes SoftTrac® ScanDS, a full-featured document scanning software solution based on ibml's proven SoftTrac Capture Suite used on its ImageTrac family of ultra-high volume scanners. Also included in the bundle are barcode reading for inline recognition and sorting; the SoftTrac PostScan module with powerful enhancement and export functionality; a quality control client for post-scan review and correction; a single user license of SoftTrac Analytics with alert notifications; and a tool for managing data and image retention. The ImageTracDS 1150 is also compatible with other optional modules from the ibml SoftTrac Capture Suite, including DocNetics® software for in-line OCR, 2D bar code recognition and document classification; the SoftTrac Searchable PDF high-volume conversion module; and connectors for Kofax Capture and TiS eFlow.

"The ImageTracDS 1150 is uniquely positioned for low- or medium-volume operations with document sorting requirements, for high-volume operations requiring an affordable but feature-rich back-up scanner, and for centralized scanning operations that need a lower-speed scanner to capture and consolidate images from remote locations," said ibml President and CEO Derrick Murphy. "Combined with our SoftTrac Capture Suite software, the ImageTracDS 1150 is also a good fit for applications where a smaller desktop scanner makes more sense, such as remittance and lockbox processing, claims processing, and tax processing."

The ImageTracDS 1150 provides approximate throughput up to 150 pages per minute (PPM) at 200 dots per inch (DPI). It also offers 24-bit color image capture at optical resolutions ranging from 50 to 600 DPI. And the ImageTracDS 1150 provides users the flexibility to simultaneously output images in the JPEG or TIFF file format.

ibml is showcasing the ImageTracDS 1150 this week in booth #528 at the info360 Conference & Expo at the Javits Center in New York City. The scanner will first be sold in the United States and is expected to be available for ordering beginning in July.
