Infinio Increases VMware Collaboration With Addition To VMware Partner Verified And Supported Product Program

Adds to VMware TAP, CIM and Host Extension program memberships to give customers a product designed with VMware’s support standards top of mind

Infinio, a market leader in storage acceleration for virtualized data centers, recently announced that it has been added to the VMware Partner Verified and Supported Product program. This inclusion advances deployments of Infinio Accelerator in VMware vSphere environments, and helps extend the quality of customer support.

The VMware Partner Verified and Supported Product program validates third-party virtualization technologies and improves support through heightened collaboration with VMware. Infinio, which uses server-side memory distributed across hosts to create a global storage cache, is a VMware Technology Alliance Partner (TAP), a member of the VMware Host Extensions program and supporter of Common Information Model (CIM) interfaces. Inclusion in the PVSP program helps Infinio’s interoperability with vSphere versions 5.0, 5.1 and 5.5, as well as upcoming versions. Customers of Infinio and VMware can utilize this interoperability to support their businesses as they scale.

The addition to the VMware Partner Verified and Supported Product program coincides with the Infinio 2.0 release, which broadens its platform support to include block storage devices such as Fibre Channel and iSCSI storage arrays. To support these new platforms, Infinio 2.0 interoperates with vSphere via VMware’s PSA multi-pathing framework; Infinio’s PSP Plug-in provides traditional multi-pathing capabilities while enabling a low latency I/O intercept mechanism. In tandem, Infinio’s content-addressable, deduplicated memory store continues to run in a rich virtual appliance environment. This unique hybrid kernel-integrated/virtual appliance architecture eliminates the trade-offs between performance and resource allocation.

VMware employs high standards for its customer support capabilities and the organizations it adds to the PVSP program, conducting a thorough audit of each member and its services. The PVSP program enables partners to create and offer new and emerging solutions that cannot be certified through any of the existing VMware certification programs. In this program, partners verify their product offering using VMware's guidelines, and provide direct support to customers. As a PVSP partner, Infinio will continue to work with VMware to deliver high-access storage performance for VMware hypervisors and guarantee compatibility between the Infinio Accelerator and vSphere while upholding the quality of these standards for partners and customers.

“Our goal is to provide customers with the top resources the industry can offer,” said Peter Smith, vice president of product management at Infinio. “The VMware Partner Verified and Supported Product program allows us to collaborate with the virtualization industry leader and provide our customers with high quality support for infrastructure software on the market, helping them add immediate value to their organizations and reduce risk in implementing new technology.”
