Instilling Mobile Confidence In Your Healthcare IT Clients

Instilling Mobile Confidence In Your Healthcare IT Clients

As the amount of data in circulation in healthcare grows, and as the industry itself becomes more complex, obtaining and maintaining clients will become increasingly grounded in vendors being able to instill trust. This means letting all clients, past, present, and future, know that you have a deep understanding of both the industry overall, and of the challenges faced on both a micro and macro level.

CDW attended HIMSS15 and their VP of healthcare, Bob Rossi, shared with Health IT Outcomes the organization’s unique take on communicating that position with their clients from perspectives that weave cohesively through mHealth, data analytics, and security.

Establishing Trust In CDW

CDW is a large organization, generating about $12 billion annually in revenue. They position themselves as an option that cuts through frustration and confusion, and allows their clients to skip the process of evaluating the growing number of choices out there in the healthcare sphere.

Most recently, this has meant working with mobile technology security partners to achieve effective solutions, and to ensure that their clinical providers have confidence that their data is flowing effectively and securely across multiple platforms. They are also focused on helping payers and providers work together to leverage mobile solutions.

Beyond Acute Care

While much of the industry has focused on acute care, Rossi emphasizes the importance of considering the entire continuum of care, citing the fact that 10,000 baby boomers are retiring every day.

“How does the acute space integrate more effectively with the long-term care and senior living space to really lower re-admissions and manage cost in a more effective way? If you look again at the massive amounts of data that I talked about, a lot of interest in analytics and … on managing population health in a more effective way, a lot of buzz and interest in that space today.”

This more integrated approach has also meant focusing on patient needs in terms of the healthcare experience (in the form of accessible kiosks that simplify system touch-points) and leveraging digital content in new ways that increase patient engagement and awareness.

Security Still Matters

Rossi also discussed the importance of security, and spending time close-up with their customers in performing threat checks and security assessments. CDW then supplies their clients with customized reports that reveal vulnerabilities, and that lead into actions designed to remediate their issues.

The CDW Technoliner

Every organization servicing healthcare and looking to communicate their connectedness will need to look into new and innovative ways to do so. CDW has introduced a 50-foot bus (which they brought along to HIMSS15) that houses a range of technologies spanning mobility, security, wireless networking, as well as extras including large screen format TVs. The bus is on a year-round road show, and has hosted over 17,000 customers in its 52,000-mile journey so far.
