IoT Needs More Integration Specialists

Just prior to 2016 I spoke with a bunch of experts in the field of data collection and learned that many felt the Internet of Things (IoT) was the most over-hyped trend of last year. Understand, this is coming mostly from vendors who always have high hopes that a trend is going to take off and become a boon for business.

Unfortunately, IoT hasn’t seen the traction many hoped for. Still, those who have done deployments can speak to real ROI (see the CompTIA news on page 8). Done correctly, IoT is a legitimate game changer. However, there are a few factors holding it back.
