It's Astonishing How Problematic Business Can Be

By Michael E. Gerber, Author of The E-Myth Books

At least, it is to me. Astonishing, that is.

You see I’ve been in the business of transforming small business for 40-plus years.

I’ve walked inside of every imaginable kind of company, from one person to 10,000 person companies.

What’s astonishing to me is how the normal things of the day are so far from normal as to sometimes seeming incomprehensible.

No matter how small the company or how large, problems concerning the production of definable outcomes reach the oftentimes insurmountable size and substance.

Take managed growth, for example.

I just met with a Certified Public Accountant, a truly brilliant lady in her mid-40s, deeply immersed in yet another tax season.

Cindy is a professional, has led her own solo practice for years, and goes daily from one client to the next with the confidence her profession and her clients demand of her, caught up in the travails of what I call “doing it, doing it, doing it,” meaning, her practice depends completely upon her.
