Brings kiosk operators enhanced security and EMV-readiness, and first ChipDNA implementation to the U.S.

Creditcall, the EMV-ready payment gateway provider and EMV migration specialist, recently announced its selection by kiosk lockdown software provider KioWare for its transition to EMV by integrating Creditcall’s EMV Migration solutionChipDNA. ChipDNA is a plug and play SDK that provides the simplest and fastest way to EMV, arming KioWare’s customers with EMV readiness ahead of the October 2015 U.S. Liability Shift.

Locking Down on Secure Cross-Industry Kiosk Transactions
Kiosk operators leveraging KioWare software to lockdown their kiosks to prevent unauthorized access, will initially accept traditional credit cards in magnetic stripe mode. However, at the push of a button, kiosk operators will be able to switch to EMV without having to do the costly, timely and complex brand certification processes themselves.  EMV Migration efforts are reduced from months to days with the implementation of ChipDNA, allowing kiosk operators to allocate saved financial and human resources in more strategic ways to grow their business.

Removing the Complexities and Accelerating Certifications of EMV Compliance with ChipDNA
KioWare for Windows 7.3.0 is a kiosk lockdown software package that operators configure to act as a secure kiosk browser. It prevents hacking or misuse of systems by effectively turning the kiosk operator’s Internet browser into a more secure kiosk where the kiosk operator can control what users access. The software can be used by any type of kiosk operator who wants to vend a product or service for everything from online retail store websites to ticket purchasing or gift card retailing – particularly useful for transactional exchanges.

ChipDNA is Creditcall’s plug and play EMV Migration solution providing the simplest and fastest way for integrators, ISVs and VARs to enable EMV payments in Windows, Windows CE or Linux based attended and unattended Point of Sale (POS) applications. ChipDNA removes the complexities of EMV compliance and dramatically reduces lengthy processor certifications. Creditcall leverages its 15 years of trusted EMV experience and innovation to serve as the Heart of Payments for ISVs, VARs and integrators so that partners can focus on more mission-critical business goals.

ChipDNA Functions

  • Authorizes payments through the secure and EMV ready Creditcall payment gateway.
  • Drives a PINpad through a complete EMV transaction.
  • Manages PINpad EMV configuration and other parameters.
  • Runs on Windows, Windows CE and Linux.
  • Includes simple libraries in C#, C++ and Java for ISVs, integrators and VARs.

KioWare Senior Developer Lynn Crumbling said: “Migrating to the more secure EMV chip card standard can be a complex, long, and costly process. By incorporating Creditcall’s ChipDNA SDK during our EMV migration process, our customers can now add a range of selected external payment devices simply by supporting one SDK. This means that our users can upgrade to the latest technology without having to reconfigure KioWare. In addition ChipDNA has enabled us to support devices that are pre-certified for EMV which cuts out the development time and specialist expertise that would normally be required for EMV certification. This means our customers will be EMV ready at the push of a button, in time for the Liability Shift without the development times and complexities normally associated with it.”

“ChipDNA provides a pain-free and cost effective route to EMV Migration as Creditcall has already done all the hard work of processor integration and securing brand certifications,” said Jeremy Gumbley, CTO, Creditcall. “By incorporating our plug and play EMV Migration ChipDNA SDK with the latest release of KioWare for Windows, kiosk operators are now able to give their customers a competitive advantage with secure, future-proofed payment options.”
