Level Platforms Launches Open Platform For Vendor Technology Integration

IT vendors create their own Managed Workplace dashboard experience and integrated workflows to maximize managed services provider (MSP) partner benefits

Ottawa, ON, Canada - Extending its role as the innovation leader in managed services, Level Platforms today announced that hardware, software and cloud services vendors can now create their own customized embedded workflows and automation within its Managed Workplace remote monitoring and management (RMM) platform. By opening its Managed Workplace platform to third-party products and solutions, Level Platforms MSP Partners can now streamline and optimize technical support for their preferred vendors to lower costs and provide a superior end-user experience for the vendor’s technologies.

“As the SMB channel continues its transformation to the MSP model, vendor products and solutions that are easily and seamlessly managed will increasingly be the technology that MSPs support, recommend and resell,” said Peter Sandiford CEO Level Platforms.  “Opening Managed Workplace to allow vendors to integrate with MSP processes brings value to vendors, MSPs and end customers.  For the first time the global vendor community is now able to align and integrate their value proposition with the MSP business model.”

New Technology Integration Program

To access this major platform extension Level Platforms is introducing a comprehensive Technology Integration Program (TIP).  With the TIP program, vendors can access a software development kit (SDK) with the necessary tools and documentation to build their own next-generation Service Modules.

Service Modules, first introduced in 2011 and recently expanded with new features in Managed Workplace 2012 R2, are independent software components that can be installed in Managed Workplace to provide MSPs with multi-site, site and device level views of specific products and services to improve operational visibility, monitoring, automation and remediation. Mature Service Modules have been in place for over a year for Symantec Backup Exec and Security End Point (SEP) products.  Many third-party vendors are already participating in the TIP program.

“Next-generation Service Modules broaden the functionality of Managed Workplace by providing MSPs with a complete and detailed view of their entire end-customer infrastructure coupled with powerful monitoring, automation and alerting capabilities to speed response and remediation times,” said Gordon Rielly, Chief Technical Officer, Level Platforms. “With the TIP program, we’re building stronger relationships with the industry’s leading vendors to help their MSP Partners deploy and manage their products as a fully integrated part of the MSP workflow.”

“With the Level Platforms Symantec Backup Exec Service Module, we have been able to take a proactive, more automated approach to managing our clients’ backup environment,” said Grigoriy Milis, Chief Technical Officer, Richard Fleischman Associates (RFA), a leading provider of IT solutions for financial services companies. “Service Modules are key extensions for Managed Workplace that delivers immediate benefits for our business and end-users. We are now able to reduce the time required to identify and respond to issues which frees-up valuable IT resources to focus on projects that deliver higher value services for our customers.”

Using the TIP SDK, a vendor development team can develop a basic Service Module in less than a month. Once certified by Level Platforms, the Service Modules will be distributed from within Managed Workplace to the global Level Platforms community.  Level Platforms also announced an integrated service offering to facilitate the creation of Service Modules for vendors with limited development resources.

“We are excited to expand our relationship with Level Platforms through TIP to deliver a unique level of integration for our mutual Partners,” said Austin McChord, CEO, Datto Inc. one of the vendors currently engaged in TIP. “With our Datto Service Module for Managed Workplace, MSPs will be able to easily manage our back-up and disaster recovery solution directly from within their RMM platform. This is an important integration for Datto, and highlights our commitment to working closely with Level Platforms to bring as much value to our Partners as possible.”
