LogicNow Announces New Release Of IT Infrastructure Management Platform

LogicNow has announced a new release of ControlNow, its integrated IT infrastructure management platform. The upgrade will enable personalized alerts for individual users. With individual logins and accounts, IT administration staff can receive email alerts for events such as quarantined emails and failed patches on a user’s device. The new release also enables IT managers to receive alerts by SMS regarding business-critical issues, such as servers going offline. Filters can be applied so IT staff can opt to receive only the alerts they need. Also added in this release is the Service Manager, which allows support staff to review, start, stop, and restart Windows Services remotely.

Autotask Remote Monitoring And EndPoint Management Now Available

Autotask released Autotask Endpoint Management (AEM). This scalable, cloud-based platform delivers visibility and control of all endpoints across multiple operating systems, including Windows, OSX, Linux, iOS, and Android. Features include ticket and remote takeover (RTO) integration including use of Autotask LiveLinks and SNMP (simple network management protocol) monitoring to include devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and SANs. It also includes discovery, population, and continual updating of all managed assets in Autotask’s Configuration Management Database (CMDB), software management policies for mobile devices, and automatic round-trip ticket generation and alert closure between Autotask’s IT business management platform and AEM.

MaxxVault Releases Latest Version Of Document Management Software

Software developer MaxxVault launched the latest iteration of its introductory-level document management software: MaxxDocs 6.0. This version includes a Web server option that allows clients to set up their own private clouds for access to documents internally or externally. MaxxDocs users can search, view, and upload documents via a browser interface. MaxxDocs works with TWAIN and Kofax scanners as well as any networked copier capable of scanning to a network folder. Among new features in the release are updated connectors for Sharp OSA and Kyocera HyPAS enabled multifunction printers.

Carousel Industries Launches Cloud-Based Conferencing Service

Carousel Industries, a provider of unified communications, managed services, data solutions, and visual communications, has launched Simplicity Video, a new cloud-based video conferencing solution. It was developed in cooperation with Pexip, a provider of scalable, distributed video software, and it consists of two separate offerings: Public Video Cloud (PVC) and Managed Private Cloud (MPC). The PVC offering is deployed from Carousel’s co-location in Dallas, and provides a fully virtualized network along with WebRTC (Web real-time communications) capabilities. The on-premises MPC offering provides a multipoint conferencing solution that features a distributed architecture, integration with customers’ existing unified communications solutions such as Microsoft Lync, and the ability to power video-enabled websites and contact centers — allowing employees, customers, and partners to interact in a company’s native Web environment without having to click on a third-party link to join a Web conference.

Sophos Adds Endpoint Protection Solutions

New to Sophos’ endpoint protection product line is Malicious Traffic Detection that detects communications between a compromised endpoint and an attacker’s servers. The company is also launching an updated endpoint agent architecture powered by the new Sophos System Protector. This service acts like a human brain, collecting and analyzing information gathered by Malicious Traffic Detection and other components, such as HIPS (host intrusion protection systems) runtime protection. In addition, Sophos released SafeGuard Encryption 7 and Sophos Mobile Encryption 3, enabling businesses to securely create, access, and edit encrypted data from any device. It provides data protection across multiple platforms and devices, whether the data resides on a laptop or a mobile device, or is shared via the cloud or network. SafeGuard Encryption also integrates with Sophos Mobile Encryption 3, which makes it possible for users to create and edit encrypted documents from their mobile devices and to manage multiple keys directly from the mobile apps.
