CompTIA Mobility+ Certification Addresses Skills For Mobile Environments

CompTIA, the non-profit association for the global IT industry, offers CompTIA Mobility+, a new skills certification for the mobile technologies arena. It covers the knowledge and skills IT professionals need in order to deploy, integrate, support, and manage a mobile environment, including mobile device management, troubleshooting, security, and network infrastructure. Potential candidates for the CompTIA Mobility+ credential include mobility architects, mobility engineers, network administrators, and security administrators. The certification is best suited for individuals who are CompTIA Network+ certified (or have equivalent working knowledge) and have at least 18 months of work experience in the administration of mobile devices in the enterprise. StorageCraft Releases ShadowProtect IT Edition PRO

StorageCraft Technology has released StorageCraft ShadowProtect IT Edition PRO, which provides IT professionals unlimited disaster recovery, data protection, and system migration for Windows systems in their environments — without installing any software. This edition includes StorageCraft ShadowProtect Granular Recovery for Exchange, allowing recovery of email messages and entire mailboxes from exchange database (EDB) files. Quantum Enables MSPs To Offer Cloud Backup Services

Quantum helps managed service providers (MSPs) and value added resellers (VARs) expand their businesses with cloud backup service powered by Quantum’s virtual deduplication appliances and vmPRO backup software. Using an all-virtual, all-software approach and capacity-based subscription pricing, Quantum’s program allows MSPs and VARs to brand, market, and sell cloud Backup-as-a-Service offerings that scale as the provider’s revenue grows. By participating in the Quantum program, MSPs and VARs have access to tools necessary to provide backup and disaster recovery services including sales and technical training, marketing resources, and access to Quantum software for trial and demonstration purposes. snom technology Adds Integration, Extends Phone Warranty

snom technology’s 7xx series of SIP (session initiated protocol)-based IP endpoints are now certified to work with IPsmarx’s multi-tenant IP-PBX platform and Class 5 Softswitch. This gives IPsmarx customers — voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) service providers — integrated billing, call routing, email marketing, and e-commerce functionality in a single solution. snom also announced it has doubled its factory warranty to two years on its desktop IP phones. It covers the 3xx series, 7xx series, and 8xx series SIP-based IP phones, as well as the PA-1 pager, and is retroactive to phones purchased by end users from July 1, 2013. Full Press Release.

Webroot And LabTech Partner To Deliver Endpoint Protection

Webroot and LabTech Software have formed a strategic partnership. Webroot SecureAnywhere solutions and LabTech’s remote monitoring and management (RMM) platform are now engineered together to enable managed service providers (MSPs) to deliver endpoint protection. This integration includes support from LabTech Stack Advisors. Webroot’s cloud-based management console requires no dedicated servers, and endpoints can be remotely managed and remediated. Kaseya Acquires 365 Command

Kaseya has acquired 365 Command, a solution enabling IT organizations and MSPs to manage and administer the Microsoft Office 365 cloud application suite. The solution is a scalable, hosted service that replaces the command line interface of Windows PowerShell with a web-based interface. It features Exchange Migrator for migration to Office 365, mobile device access monitoring, and the ability for MSPs to manage all of their Office 365 clients through a single login.
