StorageCraft Releases VirtualBoot For vSphere

StorageCraft Technology Corp. has released VirtualBoot for vSphere, a new technology that gives StorageCraft ShadowProtect SPX users the ability to virtualize backup images as guest virtual machines (VMs) directly on VMware ESXi hosts without the use of an intermediary appliance or secondary conversion process.

Additionally, it can be used to permanently migrate physical systems or VMs from a different hypervisor platform to ESXi with minimal downtime, test changes to production systems offline, and leverage existing VMware investments to maximize ROI.

VirtualBoot for vSphere is used in conjunction with StorageCraft ShadowProtect SPX backup and disaster recovery software and is included with every SPX license. VirtualBoot for vSphere was developed in joint collaboration and participation with VMware through their vSphere APIs for I/O Filtering (VAIO) Program.

Nectar Now Offering Advanced Network Assessment Partner Program

The value gained through hosted UC (unified communications) services does not automatically materialize if enterprises move their users to the cloud without the proper planning. Nectar Services Corp. believes that, preceding the deployment of hosted UC services, well-informed enterprise customers will want to confirm that network connections between their major locations are capable of supporting anticipated voice, video, and collaboration traffic. For this type of network assessment, enterprise customers need a trusted and comprehensive partner that understands the complexities of geographically distributed, multivendor UC networks and has the assessment tools and skillsets necessary to thoroughly test the network’s ability to support the enterprise’s growing UC traffic.

With all this in mind, Nectar announced recently that it has launched a new advanced partner designation program, which will help enterprise customers identify partners that have been certified to leverage Nectar’s Perspective solution to design, deploy, and report the results of network assessments for both cloud and on-premises UC deployments, including Microsoft Skype for Business Online.

LOGICnow Launches MAX Risk Intelligence For Mac

LOGICnow recently announced its MSP (managed services provider) Dashboard for Mac which will now execute MAX Risk Intelligence scans when installed as part of its MAX Remote Management (RM) platform. This release will allow Mac devices to perform the same automated risk assessments as the Windows platform.

MAX Risk Intelligence enables organizations to understand their total risk exposure by quantifying that risk in actual dollar terms, delivering unique, new security capabilities. With access to automated vulnerability scanning, MSPs can now prioritize threat mitigation strategies based directly on business costs. Mac users are now able to run MAX Risk Intelligence as an automated task by activating the feature through the MSP dashboard for Mac devices’ global settings, allowing scans to execute as a background maintenance task.

“LOGICnow has made MAX Risk Intelligence available on the Mac platform after receiving high demand from our Mac customer base,” says Brian Best, LOGICnow strategist for Apple. “Throughout the year, we will continue to nurture our Mac offering.”

Sophos Announces Next-Generation Security Solution

Sophos recently announced Sophos Intercept X, a next-generation endpoint security product that stops zero-day malware, unknown exploit variants, stealth attacks, and includes an advanced anti-ransomware feature that can detect previously unknown ransomware within seconds. Sophos Intercept X installs alongside existing endpoint security software from any vendor, immediately boosting endpoint protection by stopping malicious code before it executes.

  • Sophos Intercept X combines four critical security components that IT administrators should expect from next-generation endpoint protection:
  • Signatureless threat and exploit detection: Anti-malware and anti-hacker defense that blocks zero-day, unknown, and memory resident attacks and threat variants without the need for file scanning
  • CryptoGuard: Anti-ransomware innovation that identifies and intercepts malicious encryption activity, blocks ransomware before it can lock and cripple systems, and can roll back maliciously encrypted files to their pre-attack state
  • Root Cause Analytics: A 360-degree visual analysis of attack events that shows where the attack came in, what it affected, where it may have stopped, and recommended actions to prevent a similar attack in the future
  • Sophos Clean: Utility that hunts for, and removes, any trace of spyware and deeply embedded, lingering malware.

Auvik Networks, Continuum Announce Integration Partnership

Continuum and Auvik Networks announced a partnership agreement allowing Continuum’s MSP partners to purchase and manage Auvik through the Continuum ITSupport Portal. With this partnership, partners gain insight and visibility into the performance of all devices on their clients’ networks, allowing them to troubleshoot issues, provide proactive service to clients, and free up valuable technician time to focus on strategic initiatives. Also, the integration will enable the Continuum NOC (Network Operations Center) to help partners manage and support network devices, enabling MSPs to monitor and remediate network issues without needing to grow their staff.

Auvik provides visibility and control of network infrastructure devices, such as routers, switches, and firewalls. Using Auvik, MSPs can slash network troubleshooting time and improve proactive network maintenance.

Atera, Webroot Combine RMM, PSA, Security

Atera, developer of a cloud-based IT automation platform that combines remote monitoring and management (RMM) software, professional services automation (PSA), and remote access into one solution, recently announced that it has partnered with Webroot. The partnership will offer MSPs a seamless integration of Atera’s MSP software solution and Webroot’s next-generation endpoint security powered by cloud-based collective threat intelligence.

Through Atera, MSPs will now be able to increase their recurring revenue opportunities by offering a complete set of security solutions, including a mail filtering solution, online backup, and now Webroot’s endpoint protection. Webroot SecureAnywhere Business Endpoint Protection is a cloud-based suite of cybersecurity solutions that are fully integrated into Atera’s platform, eliminating the need for complex installation and server deployment into networks. Now it can be done through Atera with a click of a button.

This partnership enables MSPs to achieve standardization across all the networks they are managing. In conjunction with the partnership, Atera has added a new feature to its platform that immediately alerts MSPs if there are any security issues or problems.
